AMCS has established a community Health and Wellbeing Ambassadors Hub involving dedicated multilingual volunteers/community leaders from at least 10 cultural backgrounds across Metropolitan Melbourne to support Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) seniors.
Our age-friendly Ambassadors act as conduits between AMCS and CALD seniors and the wider community. They will support seniors to improve their information, knowledge, literacy, communication, and social, economic, and civic engagement.
To take up a role as an AMCS Health and Wellbeing Ambassador, a range of mentoring and educational workshops will be arranged to empower the recruited volunteers to develop their capacities, knowledge and confidence.
Workshops are co-designed, involving volunteers and professionals from partner organisations to identify the skill gaps of volunteers and tailor the training to bridge these gaps.
Supported by Maribyrnong City Council
