Personal Care Worker

Location: Melbourne, Vic

Employment Type: Casual

About the Role:

As a Personal Care Worker, you will provide essential support to our senior clients, assisting with a variety of tasks such as:

  • Domestic Assistance: Laundry, cleaning, personal care, and household tasks
  • Transport Needs: Transporting clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, and outings
  • Companionship: Offering emotional support and companionship to enhance well-being
  • Client Condition Reporting: Communicating any changes in clients’ conditions to the office as required

You will receive full support from AMCS, including a Buddy Shift to ensure a smooth transition into your new role and ongoing guidance from our Support Worker Leaders.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Completion of or progress towards Cert III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care, Home Care, or Disability
  • Certification: Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Driver’s Licence: A valid Victorian Driver’s Licence, reliable vehicle, and minimum third-party car insurance
  • Police Check: Consent for a standard Police Check (cost covered by AMCS)
  • Eligibility: Legal right to work in Australia
  • Languages: Proficiency in a second language is highly regarded, particularly Polish, Greek or Italian, though not essential
  • Locations: Locations include Southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, Inner North, Inner city locations.

Community Connector

Location: Seddon, Melbourne, Vic

Employment Type: Part Time

 

About the Role:

The Community Connector role at AMCS supports older people and people with disability to stay connected to their community, maintain independence, and participate in meaningful activities. Based in Maribyrnong, you will work within the Community Connections Program to engage clients, coordinate services, and promote social inclusion for culturally diverse communities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage new clients in the Maribyrnong region
  • Conduct client and carer needs assessments and support goal setting
  • Connect clients with community activities and services
  • Support program delivery and daily operations of the Community Connections Centre
  • Liaise with community organisations and internal teams to coordinate referrals and activities
  • Assist with program promotion and community engagement
  • Complete reporting requirements including monthly DEX reports and case documentation

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate III in Disability or related qualification (nursing, mental health, etc.)
  • First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening, and Police Check
  • Understanding of NDIS and community-based supports
  • Strong communication, organisation, and computer skills (MS Office)
  • Ability to work respectfully with diverse and multicultural communities
