AMCS is challenging everyone to focus on the person, not their age.
1 October is designated by the United Nations as International Day for Older Persons. This year, EveryAGE Counts is also marking the day as Ageism Awareness Day with the theme of, “Ageism: Know it. Name it.”
AMCS is running a social media awareness campaign for “a society where every person is valued, connected and respected regardless of age and functional health.”
Although ageism is not well known or understood, research reveals that half the world’s population discriminates against older people.
