Friday October 7th was Ageism Awareness Day.
AMCS champions Anti-Ageism as it exists within Australia as one of the most widely accepted forms of discrimination, impacting people of all ages and must be named and stamped out in the pursuit of a just and compassionate society.
To mark the day and as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, we partnered with Gerard Mansour, Municipal Association of Victoria, COTA Victoria and The LOTE Agency to present the work of our finalists in the AMCS Anti-Ageism Art Challenge. Each entry challenged the negative stereotypes of ageing, with bonus points for inclusivity and multiculturalism.
Thank you to Katie Hall MP and everyone who attended to raise awareness, celebrate the talented artists and take the pledge towards creating a more accepting society.
